We are a racing team currently preparing for the 24 Hours of LeMons race in Houston, and anxiously awaiting our application approval so we can get the cage built.
We chose the Mark VIII to kick those Mazda driving punks with some American big iron. The Mark VIII has a big V8, 4 wheel independent suspension and disk brakes. Yes it's heavy and somewhat squishy but put some cop springs under it to stiffen it up and ditch all those electronic crap and we think it can be a competitor. And no, there's not much actual iron in one, the engine is almost all aluminum, even the hood is plastic...
We are an interesting bunch of guys and gals who make up the Bastardos de LeMons:
We have a former custom motorcycle builder / computer geek / biker person, his longest
known friend and certifiable maniac who actually races a dreaded Miata, a mild mannered
family man who becomes a demon when he rides and coincidentally used to be a motorcycle
endurance roadracer. We have another maniac who enjoys riding a dirtbike all the way
from Dallas to central Mexico by himself during summer and the drummer and guitarist from
a touring band. That and women, lots of women...
